Seth Davis
Seth Davis is the Managing Partner of Lighthouse Legal Search where he recruits for law firms, in-house legal departments, government agencies and non-profit organizations around the globe. Seth’s focus is on law firm mergers, representing partners, and general counsel searches. He also has experience with in-house counsel searches, associate placements, patent attorney placements, and E-discovery/ legal technology professional placements.
Prior to forming Lighthouse Legal Search, Seth was the Managing Partner for Laurence Simons International, an executive legal search firm. He was also a Managing Director for Major, Lindsey & Africa, one of the largest executive legal recruiting firms in the United States. Prior to recruiting, Seth was intrinsically involved in the legal technologies industry from its infancy, pioneering both domestic and international strategies for electronic discovery and computer forensics, both in the US and in Australia, where he facilitated the establishment of the largest eDiscovery organization in the Asia Pacific region. Moreover, Seth has written articles concerning legal careers, most notably “E-Discovery Attorneys: Hot or Not?” for Law Firm Inc., and has conducted continuing legal education training seminars worldwide.
Seth also maintained a vibrant career coaching practice, catering specifically to legal professionals in need of career advice and stress reduction. He was a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and was certified to administer and interpret the MBTI® assessment and the revised Strong Interest Inventory® instruments.
Seth received his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. He also studied international human rights law at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, as well as international business law at Moscow State University in the Russian Federation. Prior to law school he taught English in Mexico, Hungary and Spain. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Davis.
Seth is an avid runner and coach. He coached the triathlon and marathon teams for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society starting in 1998. He also coached the University of California, Berkeley Triathlon Team from 2001 until 2015. He now drives his boys to water polo and soccer tournaments as well as to swim meets.
